Joy Whisper

I could have kept to the shadows

I could have sung the song of sorrows

I could have sat here forever

Just content to be sad

 

But I heard joy whisper

I felt hope flicker

I smiled when I use to cry

I watched the storm before my eyes pass by

 

And for the first time

Peace was clearer than ever

The dark clouds drifted

The heaviness lifted

Dread left and took fear with it

Tears dried

Hope sat down by my side

Sadness disappeared into the night

 

I’d been going through life

Not paying attention,

But when I listened

Joy whispered

 

I could have been content to be sad forever

I could have gave up and surrendered

But I heard joy whisper

^^ I love this, it can be so easy sometimes just to dwell on our pains and sorrows but that's not a worthwhile life, I would rather hear joy whisper and choose to follow hope.
