Betrayal

Betrayal

A Poem by The Poet of Black Wings

I promise to be good.

I promise, I do!

Please, spare the rod,

I won't be spoiled.

I promise not to act out.

I promise not to speak.

I promise not to cry.

Just please,

Stay your hand.

No more!

I begged.

I begged and I pleaded.

I lied and stole.

I sold my soul

Trust, isn't an easy thing, but I gave it to you.

Joy, isn't a fake emotion, but I pretended.

Betrayal isn't a light word, but it does describe this so.

I trusted you, hid desperately my emotion, and spared my words.

But no more.

You were my protector.

He who shielded me.

You were my teacher.

That which gave wisdom.

You were my creator.

All that gave me life.

You were my father.

It that described these things.

You...

Were my god.

But,

No more.
