Alone In the House

Alone In the House

A Poem by CallieWVU2

Alone in the House
The wind breaking against the window
Against the door
Whistling like an old lover
Who has come back once more.

There is nothing quite like forgiveness
When your betrayal has all but consumed you
In such a way, that you are addicted to hating your soul.
Nothing like forgiveness to take away some of the hate.

Alone in the house
Except for the clock that keeps ticking
You set your heart to the rhythm,
You there, with your legs tucked underneath.
