A Dark BarkingA Poem by CallieWVU2
The dark barks and
I can almost hear it bite
Below my ear.
Sharp and scraping,
I want to bite my lip
To taste what blood comes,
And not the jump of fear.
I want to close my eyes
And see you and I
In your dream,
Where you ask of me
Come here, Come here
And you turn to find me there
At your side.
And I open my mouth to tell you
Love is a supply that will never end.
And theres no need for you to feel like God
For fifteen minutes before you deflate.
To feel as though a train has run you through
Crashing into every nerve.
I want to tell you this
But nothing comes but blood.
And it slithers from between my lips
Dripping, looking like
Tar in the dark.
