The Void

The Void

A Poem by Caliona
"

Pain, sorrow, an endless void.

"
The void is painful.
Darkness and nothing, cold to the touch.
It's bitter and tasteless.
Shattered glass and bloody feet.

Darkness and nothing, cold to the touch.
Silence mixed with deafening sound.
Shattered glass and bloody feet.
It's beautiful, yet tragic.

Silence mixed with deafening sound.
Banging fists against the wall.
It's beautiful, yet tragic.
It's the broken wings of a bird.

Banging fists against the wall.
What is insanity?
It's the broken wings of a bird.
A grim reaper holds out his hand.

What is insanity?
How can the emptiness be broken?
A grim reaper holds out his hand.
Glancing up and noticing the stars.

How can the emptiness be broken?
Do wounds ever heal?
Glancing up and noticing the stars.
The light is blinding.

Do wounds ever heal?
The void is painful.
The light is blinding.
It is bitter and tasteless.

Well written. I like the progressive repetition which sort of adds emphasis to those phrases.
