I can absolutely feel the longing in this piece, in every single word. It's so emotional and I can really relate. Your writing is always so simple but that's what makes it so heartfelt at the same time. It's just beautiful and masterful. I'm your fan!

For me the poignancy was lessened by the over-use of "if it's only one last time". Repetition does have a place in our emotional firmament and yet if the work is too small to comfortably contain it - well, that is the way this piece feels to me. You have my attention. Your words HAVE impact and insight... the emotion is right THERE... use a finer "touch" and guide your listener to be beside you.

We wish for closure after having fallen in love with someone, later to find out the relationship could not work out and wasn't meant to be. Even after heartbreak, we long for that beautiful goodbye, a final memory that is of good, because love was once there, perhaps still is, despite of all.
