I love the sentiment you express here! I think it is one of the most important things we can ever learn. Your third stanza is spot on! I wrote something in a similar vein once, a long time ago:
Tender is the night of contentment
When the hour of battle is gone;
One and only wish this moment--
For all our lives to drink this wine.
But if fate would grant this boon
We would soon and surely find
That without the temper of the battle
Victory could never taste so fine.
Either way, one never knows the good without getting intimately acquainted with the bad. Your poem says this beautifully!
Cheers!

Wow; thanks for such a great review. I love your poem, too, JKB!
This spells out the ups and downs of life in a wonderfully poetic way. Agree with JK, that third verse is standout in what is a quite wonderfully composed poem.
One of my favorites poem! The words composition`s very good. Being happy with life means to be joyous in love; with the pleasurable moments of happiness. But, when it comes to pain, the roads start getting divide into lanes--the lanes of love & what left behind is "Memories" of time. So, this poem`s seemed like that. Very nice work as always!

Thank you, Neon! :D
Within all beauty must have been pain... yes, I can be really short about this one, from out of all pain, beauty will be born. Again you make that really clear with your nice ray of words my friend.
