The Lonely Road

The Lonely Road

A Poem by Calissa Knox

The music plays,

and I let it consume me.

I pour out my regret

for the things I left behind.

Walking on,

through the lonely darkness.

Shedding tears of loss,

  but never looking back.

Very nice. Many have walked such a road and will feel the emotions. I may have tread quite a few of them. Thankfully, even sad roads lead to another place.

Never to look back nice message but very difficult to explain to this heart!

You made me think of a bittersweet goodbye. I don't know if that's what you intended but I truly felt your emotions and you resurfaced my own. Very powerful. Thank you for sharing!
