There is Beauty

There is Beauty

A Poem by Calissa Knox

Look at the sun, setting over the ocean.
There is beauty.
Look at the trees, dancing with the wind.
There is beauty.
Feel the departure of the one you trusted to stay.
Feel the rejection, the tears, the hurt, the pain.
Look at the sunset over the ocean again.
It reflects the memories of a distant love.
Look at the trees dancing again.
You start to sway with melancholy sadness.
Feel the pen in your hand, scribbling out your deepest hurt.
Feel the sweet release of tears falling on pages of your heart.
Look at what you've created from brokenness.
Look at how far you've come.
Feel your heart rising up from the ashes...
There is beauty.

not much i can say.. surprisingly after all this time, this poem brought out feelings that i havent had or wanted to think about in years,

Look at what you've created from brokenness.
Look at how far you've come.

Feel your heart rising up from the ashes...

this part resonated with me, because to me it was saying.. that no matter how much destruction or hurt or suffering, or even how much heartbreak, we endure on a daily basis in this world. that we can still create something so magical, so meaningful...
i dont know if this part is correct but i feel like you are writing from the deepest part of your heart, and if this is true then i thank you for both writing this. and being confident enough to post it online for the world to see,
thanks for changing my perspective, hope to see you do it again

Sweet and soft melancholy, resonating in this work.
There's the feeling of a lost soul, trying to find itself again after the heart has shattered. Pain is a dark muse - whispering words that feel like daggers stabbing into your mind. And yet look at what it produces! Something truly special - a poem of real pain, yet woven with a spell-like intricacy. Well penned indeed, Feather.
Keep up the great work!

Yes. Very natural. But just out of curiosity, do you actually feel any of this? I mean actually, like Anne of the Green Gables?

I know, I don't. Perhaps just for a moment, sometimes. I wish I could. I wish I had a heart. I wish I had a soul. The beautiful soul of an author.

Indeed there is beauty, even in the painful sadness, because without the sadness, what could happiness mean? Nice job penning a most a relate-able piece.

My pleasure!!!!
You put into words something we all feel and experience every day. I've always had observations like this, but never enough to write so beautifully about them. Your writing is so honest and comforting. I love this one and am saving it on my phone right away!

This is serene, and there is beauty, it tells me you're a poetess who receive much, and breathe it all out... I enjoyed this poetic piece very much, you write with emotional balance, and you are aware of all the little things, that surround you. Makes me eager to read more of your fantastic work.
