A Tribute to Beauregard

A Tribute to Beauregard

A Poem by Calibaster
"

This is the more modern version of," My Pet"

"
My pet was old,
My pet was short,
My pet was of the Canine sort,
He shed his hair all over the floor,
And could barley make it out the door,
He was 91 I believe,
And used to be able to bob and weave,
His ears hung low,
He was long as a log,
I sure miss him,
My old Basset Hound dog.

Its cute, sentimental. However, Believe is clearly used to rhyme with weave but for someone who is so attached to this animal you only believe you know his age? A bit conflicting. Not necessarily worth changing as it sounds good read aloud, maybe the person in the poem is just not very confident in their math skills haha. Nice job.

And, looking at the other comments, Greta is spelled with one t. It's cool though!

I like this one better than My Pet. It's sadder, as your saying Bouredguard in a past tense. I never got to meet Boureguard. Was he anything like Gretta?? You should make a tribute to Gretta too. And one of those cats that is always on your front porch! :)

he was the exact opposite of Greta! He was the zen master.

whereas Greta is a big furball of energy!
Oh... Alverran, almost made me cry. But how long has it been? And how is Gretta? Is that how you spell it? You should make a tribute to her too. Though I know she's not dead. I love it, you really are amazing.
