My Pet

My Pet

A Poem by Calibaster
"

I wrote this in Fifth grade, about my dog. He is dead now, so if you read the poem ," A tribute to Boureguard," you will find the more recent version of it.

"
My pet is old,
My pet is short,
He is of the Canine sort,
He sheds his hair all over the floor,
He can barley make it out the door,
He is 91 I believe,
And he used to be able to hop and weave,
Can you guess what he is?
Here is another clue,
His ears hang low,
And he is as long as a log,
Can you guess what he is?
He's a Basset Hound dog!

That's great! Although, you said barley rather than barely. Barley is what I grow in my field and feed to the cows.
I thought it was pretty darn funny, and you had a pretty good rhyme scheme and rythm going there. Great!
