Whenever I hear the wind in the canyonA Poem by CalibasterI wrote this for a contest.Whenever I hear the wind in the canyon, Carrying past echoes of eagles cries, I look into the midnight sky, And watch as a star dies. The moon stares down, And asks me, “Why?” His questioning face, Lights the sky. The sky pours tears, Raining stars, An angry eye glares, From distant Mars. Whenever I hear the wind in the canyon, Carrying past echoes of eagles cries, I look into the midnight sky, And watch as a star dies. © 2012 CalibasterAuthor's Note
