When It Rains

When It Rains

A Poem by Cali017

How funny it is that water falls

Because I do too

Wondering if it cleanses or condemns

While rain trickles down over our sins

And causes them to be evanesced

Or maybe they will eternally remain

And will be faded but remembered

Like everybody you will ever meet

Or at least we like to think so

Tears are beckoned by gravity

And welcomed by the broken ground

Beneath your tired feet

Because you are ignited

And I am destroyed by the discovery of you

While our deceptive freedom and innocence

Are obliterated by the water that escapes us

But maybe if we are lucky

We can keep them close

Before we realize

That this feels better
