Flower, Flower

Flower, Flower

A Poem by C>C

Flower, flower that has yet to bloom
Becomes brown and withered by it's impending doom
For it cannot
Cheat life or avoid death
It grows thorns out of fear
And yet seems to still
But it wonders and worries about what is to come
Never noticing
It's leaves and petals
Turning brown and dark
In fear of what is to come
It doesn't reach out its roots
Nor heed the call of it's brethren
What a foolish flower
Trying to cheat something
That already left its mark
When it at last notices
It is too late
She did not reach out her roots
So slowly she began to wither and die
No longer could she hear the voices of her brothers and sisters
For she had ignored them too long
And they could no longer reach her ears
And slowly she died in her own silent screams
Surrounded by the dark loneliness she created
