Trigger Hammer

Trigger Hammer

A Poem by Caleu Andrade
"

Once one all ways one. Iraq March 19 2003 at 0330 the day my life stopped.

"
With a slide of my finger, the hammer glides into motion.
A blink of an eye, a change of mind.
As the hours glaze past the beaten lens I see a figure take a stand.
watchful words, careful breathe as the power flows to the tip.
Think, before you react as the heat dances across the scope I feel the rush, the need to be someone.
static over the radio, as the carbon seeps into your veins.
Kill or be killed you say as the artistic mirage waltz his silence dance into view.
Breathe, with the beat of your heart you feel the crescent moon against your print.
Lenard Cohen tower of song echos through your nerves as you take a step back.
with a blast through space time you watch life stop. as a f**k yeah pours from your lips
numb to the very feeling. reload take a watch, count to thirty watch the ball drop.
its never stops years later when the clouds come rolling, you find yourself behind black out curtains wishing that the sun never finds a crack to seep through. days at time you pace the halls looking the final round, the hollow point that ended it all.
