I Dream

I Dream

A Poem by Caleu Andrade

I dream,

As the sun rises to the east I dream.

As the morning bird sings I dream.

As the fresh dew shatters to the ground from its soft pedals of greens I dream.

I dream of a better day.

A better present,

A better future with an enduring race,

I dream as the stars flicker in the night.

I dream as a comet streaks across the sky glazing off my eyes into the sweet dreams of a sleeping beauty being saved by a night in armor as her world clashes and crashes he sweeps her off her feet into the firefly night.

I dream.

As the first snowflake floats to the ground,

I dream as the children play with the snowman in the city parks.

With a button nose and a gracious smile I dream.

I dream as the oceans glorious waves crashes down on the sandy beach.

I dream as the salmon fights their way up stream.

Will they make it?

I think to myself as the bears wait to feed.

I dream of a coming day.

I dream as the world enslaves their fellow men with words of hatred they slain.

I dream as the universe spins.

Deep into a dream,

Deep into a dream,

Close your eyes,

Quite your minds,

Soften your ears hear the joyous songs echoing across the valleys of change.

Like a lion it roars over the mountains.

Like a lamb it gently waits.

Feel the drum beat,

As my world, your world praise.

Yes stomp your, raise the clouds high about our heads where the rains of peace will shower this land.

Today,

Today,

The time has come to dream.

With me, close your eyes feel the energy as it rushes through your veins.

Clap your hands let the thunder growl with a mighty shake.

Flashing lights in the sky we dream.

Dream,

Dream big,

Dream small,

Dream of a new arrival,

Dream of a shooting star,

Just dream with me and together we will awake the humming birds from their cage.

I dream.
