Hand Breaks

Hand Breaks

A Poem by Caleu Andrade

The further the threat, the closer it seems.

my heart in knots as I ingest another pill.

you say its over between the silence as we make plans to move forward.

I feel alone in my thoughts as the door slams.

A silent word, that no one hears, a silent secret that everyone knows.

yes I pace my wooden floors as you sleep alone in this old house.

filled with saddness, we manage to break a smile behind fears from years of mistrust.

Do we love out of passion?

Or are we drawn from deep wounds that never seemed to heal, slowling bleeding out any truth

into a slippery black iced voided over spent emotion.
