Is She Joking?

Is She Joking?

A Poem by Erica Daubert

My angel and my devil

(on either shoulder)

take nights off to get

drunk and play poker

so I can be a revelation

of guilt-free sarcasm

through written word

and half a laugh.

Dear Erica,

"My angel and my devil
(on either shoulder)"

A commonly used image, but you care this off since you personalize this and make these figure f angel and devil you own. The "take nights off", and "get / drunk and play poker".

Nicely done. Short. To the point. Nothing wasted. Enjoyed.

Very best regards,

Rick

I did like this poem. Hard to get the two away from us. Temptation and fear will always dance in our head. A good ending to a excellent poem.

Sometimes the simplicity of words have the greatest impact on an otherwise, ego-stricken reader, well done, it made me smile and will keep doing so throughout the day, thank you.
