If You're a Serial Friend to Depressed Persons

If You're a Serial Friend to Depressed Persons

A Poem by PayTheLion
"

I've noticed a few of you around.

"

I self-pity and it has consumed my life. I have become the self pity and I have spent my time on this earth layering rocks upon my back made out of my own illusions and troubles.

I just don’t understand why you would be friends with somebody like that. Why do you continue to be friends with self-consumed and self-pitying people?

I have a theory that you do it because these shambles of human beings make you feel better about yourself, but when they cling to you and rely on you for happiness or guidance you throw them away.

This can be rightly so.

Nobody should depend on anybody but themselves for their happiness.

But if you keep up this soul-sucking habit of throwing out trash bags of human beings, you will never be happy. You don’t have the capacity to be their hero, which is only your minds façade for yourself. You are simply their garbage man. You continually satisfy yourself with being dissatisfied in others.

And the only hope for them to regain their own happiness and sense of worth is that you hurt them so profoundly and so deeply, that they stand at the edge of their hates and fears and look down into the abyss that is their insanity. They look and make the decision to step back from the edge of their pain and pity instead of taking whatever their own special brand of death is.
