Anniversary's Love

I wrote this poem in celebration of a friend's anniversary.

 

Love is a true blessing, something to be cherished,
the love keeps growing, never needing to be embellished.

 

The soft and gentle feelings, of love and romance too,
continue to take place each day, and each year for both of you.

Romantic days and evenings, while walking hand in hand,
the true sentiments of the heart, soul, body and…

Love catches us at times, when we least expect it to,
but once we have it in our midst, love, it doesn’t matter who.

We lose our sense of reality, with a bit of giddiness thrown in,
it overtakes our lives somehow; you must give in to win.

Forgiveness and understanding, may be required too,
when many life issues come up, as we know they often do.

Your anniversary’s a reminder, of a lifetime of love to come.
