Cold

Cold

A Poem by Coffee
"

Love isn't always happily ever after.

"

The frosty air nips away at the open areas of my coat,

Scars once faded now exposed,

What once was the warmth of a summer's day,

Now remnants left; pieces astray,

And what a fool I was,

Longing to be loved,

Only the still silence in the night of winter,

Can mask the fire of whom now is reduced to rusted whispers,

A footprint left behind in the snow,

The frosty air nips away at the open areas of my coat,

Scars once faded now exposed,

A withering rose in the cold.
