Monsters

Monsters

A Poem by Caitlyn

The monsters shake my bed wanting me
But I hide under my covers
Like a child I believe I am safe
Under the wings of my friends
But I cant hide forever
One day Im going to have to take on that monster myself
And there won't be any covers or wings to hide under
But when I hold its head high above mine I'll know I was brave
When that day comes my friends can help others
Others who actually need help
Because I CAN take on that monster myself

Coming out from under the covers
The monsters are frightening
The tears pour and I want to go back into hiding
But I take a knife and give my flesh a break
The monsters head is mine and so is victory
