Soundless nightA Poem by caitlinThis poem tells the story of a teenage boy who passed away in a boating accedent, I knew him and its been very hard. We love you Stephanos! He hops into a canoe Not thinking of the dangers Leaves his lifejacket at home Thinking it won’t help
Leaves the dock excited Ready for some fun Not thinking Not knowing
Takes a deep breath Then starts paddling Into the soundless night
The boat starts rocking He’s thrown over He tries to scream But nothing comes out It all goes black
The phone rings "My child is missing" Cries a woman
Helicopters soar Sirens go off Looking for clues nothing absolutly nothing
FBI searches and searches Not getting anywhere Until a young boy Comes out and says "Try Connecticut River"
"There he is" Cries a fireman 2 hours later They got him out
He was just a teenage boy Trying to have some fun But he wasn’t safe And it ended fast
He could have had so much Gone like that Never to be seen Ever again
A river of tears Never dried out For Stephanos © 2008 caitlinReviews
