FallenA Poem by DJWhispers in the night, Quiet reminders of the past, shivers down his spine, shoots down from his arms. Ink stains release his pain, onto leaves of tears, almost transparent remains, of what grew in previous years. The tree and man's pain collide, as true as the words form, layer by layer the bark falls free, for years the shards adorned. Open, raw and naked, both once stood strong and tall, like many more before them, they had to take the fall. Scraps of life, of tragedy, written upon skeletal leavings, the debris of a life you see, that was once alive and breathing. Happiness the search for sun, arms stretched up to the sky, all at once came crashing down, now lay there redefined. © 2014 DJAuthor's Note
