A Robed DemonA Poem by DJA haunting childhood memory.Red like
fire, with eyes
all a-glow. Claiming to
be angelic, was a demon
wearing a golden robe. To the
closed eyes of the world, he
represented all that’s good. But the only
ones who knew him, were the
abused during childhood. The ones he promised
heaven, instead he
gave them hell. Stripping
their souls of innocence, whilst
covered in his veil. He worked
their little fingers, down to the
bone. All the
while claiming, he sat in
the high throne. He ravaged
at their flesh, he crushed
their little hearts. He warped
their perceptions, and tore
their lives apart. He used his “mighty
power”, he beat,
broke and bruised. Brought them
to the edge of death, leaving them
violated and abused. Some could
not handle, the pain
inflicted so. They gave up
their lives willingly, to the demon
that they know. Others
suffered at his hand, over many
torturous years. Until a real
angel heard them cry, stung by all
their tears. The angel
carried them away, to peaceful
faraway land. They are not
alone now, the angel
has them by the hand. © 2013 DJAuthor's Note
