A Boy Without a Name

A Boy Without a Name

A Poem by DJ
"

A flashback through emotional memories.

"

A child sitting quietly at a window pane

As adults come to pick their new spawn

From the criminally insane

No one ever picked him

For no one knew his name

Soft tears falling from his face

Left without a parents love

Guilt consuming his disgrace

He was deemed unlovable

But in desperate need of an embrace

A life empty, devoid of love

Caged in a concrete prison

A white winged gentle dove

No escape from the abuse

Silent prayers sent up above

For the murdered he did cry

No gentle words to calm him

Not one bed-time story, nor a lullaby

Stripped of clothes and dignity

Severed wings can’t fly

Scrub the floors they would say

No time for tears now you scum

You have to work all day

Get down on your hands and knees boy

Now you have to pay

For the sins of your unknown Father

Whose face you've never seen

For the absence of your Mother

She left you on the stairs

You wouldn't be alone now, if they had truly cared

You owe us boy we took you in

We let you live, though undeserved

Now forever you will pay for being an awful sin

You ungrateful little boy

You are trash and trash goes in the bin

Torn rags, dirty from head to toe

With bleach filled lungs, body bruised

Unspeakable crimes, a boy shouldn't know

Bound and gagged, blood beaten blue

As the pain inside him, continuously grows

Heart always racing, wishing he’d never cried

Searing pain to come again,

Cowered in the corner, wishing he would die

Like so many gone before him

Death was their escape, a swiftly hushed goodbye

The cowards, the abusers often hid

Behind ‘God’s word’ a spoken

To cover the horrific things they did

Outwardly an angel, a devil cleverly disguised

Just so the people would do their every bid

Childhoods were stolen, swept by the broom

Nameless faceless skeletons

Forever now are doomed

An abused and lonely existence

Death didn't come too soon

Society blankets the monstrosities that occurred here

No one takes responsibility

For an orphans life and care

A childhood of burden an adulthood of pain

A ghost masquerades in human form

A boy without a name...

this makes it sound like it's nuns who are doing it to the poor orphans when you talk about how the hide behind god and that sort of makes me think because nuns are supposed to be the "good guys" but unfortunately this did happen, it doesnt happen that much anymore do to check ups and things, but children are still abused, forgotten, and left behind, it's really a dense topic, and you dove into the gritty depths and found another beautiful way to describe such a negative topic. beautiful piece, i'd love to read more, send me more requests, and keep writing:D

i LOVE this. reminds me of oliver twist. dark and twisted, tells the story of many who have been forgotten., i.e. orphans. powerful. write more, maybe about the boy and what happened to him now
