Memories Stolen

Cancer fogging up my mind.

Fragments of memories lost,
time and time again,
each time I come back reborn,
and have to start again.
Cancer takes a toll,
on my body and my mind,
silently it unfolds,
leaving traces of time behind.
Of memories lived, of memories loved,
of sadness, a life of pain,
left in the fog is a mind gloved,
fighting this battle, will I ever be reclaimed?

I keep struggling with complimenting a well-written poem while wearing a sympathetic face for the reason behind it (if that makes sense). Your writing is wonderful. I'm looking forward to the joyful poems you'll be writing in the future, when cancer is your past & not your present. :) Also, I think if it's going to steal your memories away, it should start with the crappy ones. Just sayin'. ;)

Yes that makes sense. Thank you so much I look forward to the happy ones I can write once I have overcome the beast too. I know! You know whats funny, that is exactly what my partner keeps saying! I have lost so many memories, over and over again, but never my childhood ones. You made me laugh, thanks for that :D
