Chapter 6A Chapter by Kane
A few minutes after I had asked for a computer with internet connection I was brought out of the prison, into a long ride to civilization which lasted a few hours with nothing around me but sand and that was followed by half an hour of Celine talking to the front desk lady of a bleak looking internet cafe which stank of smoke and old people although only three people were to be seen. As Celine was arguing intently I looked at the cafe in detail. Eight computers, well nine if count the one behind the desk, eight routers and a whole load of smoke. This entire place was so weird though. It had the vibe of something more than just an internet cafe... I walked off without Celine noticing and grabbed a computer. I sat down in front of it and
it gave me a message: 'Password?' A normal screen, a normal prompt message, but there was something off about it. Correct, the question mark. I typed into the field right next to it: 'How about you just open up?' 'How about you tell me the password?' It retorted. Now I was sure, this wasn't a normal internet cafe, this was more than that. Probably a hidden organizations base of operations... Yeah, more than probable. It was great AI, more than a normal internet cafe could have ever programmed. I quickly typed in a simple command that probably any AI had: 'reset' and the screen turned black. I walked back to the front desk and said: "I tried to find the toilet on my own but I failed miserably, could you tell me where it is?" The front desk lady pointed towards a door at the far end of the room and I hit my head in show, saying: "How stupid of me, thank you." I quickly walked past the desks and their respective computers before walking into the bathroom. I expected a dirty place that stank of... well the way a bathroom stinks, but it was nice, clean and it smelled pretty good to be honest. I smiled because that was a clear sign that I would be able to use one of the computers. I sighed in relief, a computer with advanced AI made hacking so much easier... I quickly washed my face, I was trying to get into the zone. The organization seemed high end and pretty confident in their security. I took a deep breath, washed my hands and walked out. Celine was sitting at a desk and she waved me over, gesturing me to a computer right next to mine and asked: "So, what should I do?" "Nothing. You just sit back and watch the show, while I go ahead and hack into your organizations security system." "You can't seriously expect me to just sit back," she said in disbelief, but I ignored her. Right now, it was just me and the computer, maybe the AI if things got difficult. There was the prompt message once again: 'Password?' I grabbed a slip of paper Celine had put on my desk typed in the code it had quickly. These codes were pretty easy to figure out when you knew about the organization, but I didn't want to risk anything here so I kept my fingers off of hacking the computer itself. The data world is a place of beauty, but only to those, who knew of it. But probably nobody in the world could say that they knew everything about it without lying. Even I would never be able to do so. It's not a question about language, or anything of sorts, rather its problem lies in the never changing flow of time, which ironically changes data. As humans advance with time, we learn new possibilities in which data can be written. I flew through the files in this computer, looking for programs I could use and would probably need, and those that weren't there although I would need them probably. After a quick look up I found plenty of coding tools, but no hacking tools. This meant following: This place wasn't a hackers den, but a coders den. I quickly went into the internet and downloaded loads upon loads of programs. While those were downloading and installing I opened the coding tools and coded a few programs myself. I only downloaded those hacking programs with which I could not be bothered to write myself, the simple and short ones I quickly wrote myself and wrote them to my own preference. The most effective would be to write all of the programs myself, but I wanted to do this interesting job as soon as possible. I had all of the programs I needed, and I was ready to roll. © 2014 KaneAuthor's Note
