Chapter 5: ElizabethA Chapter by KaneThree Years ago: Crow ran across the street in his school jersey. In big white letters it said: Lincoln Middle school California. He had just won the games through the group stages and had qualified for the brackets. He had just won his last game and then got the call that his sister had been hospitalized. Crow ran towards the subway train ran past the ticket booths into the train and waited for it to go. Afterwards Crow ran into the hospital towards the front desk and asked: "Where is Elizabeth Mitchells?" The nurse looked at the computer and said: "On the third floor, room number 358 west wing." Crow ran through the hospital, up the stairs through the hallways to his sisters room.
She was lying in a bed whilst looking out the window. Crow smiled and walked over to his sister. "Hey sis, how are you?" Elizabeth turned her head and looked at Crow. "How did you-?" she began, but Crow interrupted her: "Mom called June, she told me and I ran here right after the game. Didn't think I'd come did you?" Elizabeth gave a weak smile but shook her head: "I didn't want you to find out with the bracket stages being so close." "Well, I found out and I will tell you something, never ever think that anything will influence my play, I remember our promise, do you?" Elizabeth smiled at Crow's words and replied: "Yes, I do. Win the nationals for me, right?" Elizabeth also used to play basketball. But she was involved in a car accident and since then couldn't play basketball, shortly before her middle school finals. The game was lost and she was very sad. Crow wanted to win the nationals for her and trained hard. His sister though had a body where not doing sports would bring her some problems. But because of the accident she couldn't move much. In the end she was hospitalized because of the lack of exercise which would've kept her body fit. Crow was in Elizabeth's hospital room and talked about the group stages while Elizabeth listened in nostalgia. The female and male group stages were held on the same days and were usually in the same gyms. As Crow talked, Elizabeth started to get tired. Crow noticed this and then said: "Sleep sis, I guess I'll be going home, mom or dad will be coming soon, bringing your stuff. Bye." "Bye," Elizabeth replied and Crow walked out of the room, the hospital, straight to his house.
He sat at his desk and looked at the computer screen. He watched the black screen become more than a black screen. It started to become a mirror of his feelings. © 2013 KaneAuthor's Note
