Chapter 2: Two years later

Chapter 2: Two years later

A Chapter by Kane

Hnoss and Gersemi had rejected another thirteen requests to marry. Kenneth had really disappeared right after the ceremony. No one knew where he had gone and no one was sad. Everyone had hated Kenneth. He was a taint in their existence, a demigod who could use more powers than any other minor god and who could talk to Fenrir without fearing him. He had earned the favor of Odin and had been liked by Tyr himself. He had met Thor and Thor had instantly befriended with him. Every minor god hated him and yet no one knew where Kenneth was and yet no one cared. Hnoss and Gersemi were in their mother’s house sitting in one room and they were all doing something. Suddenly, someone knocked on their door and Hnoss went to open it. A minor god stood there, he had sent Hnoss and Gersemi many marriage requests. He grabbed Hnoss and said: “You wrench! Declining my marriage requests although you married that b*****d son of Loki, you will marry me!” Hnoss resisted shouting: “Leave me alone!” The minor god started to drag her away. Suddenly someone stood next to him. He had jet black hair and a mask, his eyes were red as blood and he had something in his hand. He grabbed the minor god and hit him in the abdomen. The minor god cringed in pain. Hnoss got out of the grip and the minor god was lying on the ground. The new person stood above the minor god and then cast a spell. The minor god was in a cage. The new man walked towards Hnoss and gave her the thing in his hand and then walked away. Hnoss opened her hand and saw a small figurine. It was a dragon which was in descent. The dragon looked familiar but she couldn’t grasp who it was. “Hnoss, what happened?” Gersemi and Freya were running out of the house. They saw the cage and Gersemi said: “When did you learn a spell like that?” Freya though knew that something was off and so asked: “Who casted this spell?” Hnoss and Gersemi both looked at their mother surprised. “I did, so what?” The man with the jet black hair, the blood red eyes and the mask was leaning in the doorway of Freya’s house. All of them were surprised but Freya regained her composure quickly. “So you have come back.” “I have come back. Although that hadn’t been planned by me but by someone else, I have still returned and yet here I am and see that men try to grab my wives, it seems like I need to show them my wrath.” Freya looked at the cage again and then said: “Open the cage, how dare you cage a god as a demigod.” “Well, he did try to kidnap Hnoss. But why don’t you open it?” Kenneth asked, smiling. Freya looked him in the eye and said: “You know that I can’t open it. You learnt a weird kind of magic which I have never seen before. Open the cage Kenneth.” Kenneth looked at her, pulled off his mask. He went to the cage and spoke a spell. He then grabbed the minor god and pulled him up. He looked him in the eye and said: “Get away from here or I will kill you.” The minor god ran away and Kenneth put his mask back on. Hnoss, Gersemi and Freya walked back into the house and Kenneth started to walk away but Freya stopped him: “I need to thank you for helping my daughter. Although I don’t like you, you saved my daughter, so come in.” Kenneth was about to reject but then he saw Freya’s face, she was ashamed of doing this and he knew that if he were to reject the offer she would feel more ashamed. Kenneth accepted the offer and walked into the house. In the house he sat in a chair and pulled off his mask. His face was the same as always but something had changed. His eyes were different, his hair color was totally different and something was different. “What happened to you Kenneth?” Gersemi asked. Kenneth looked at her and then smiled: “I saw things, I felt things, I experienced things and I met things.” Freya looked at him and then said: “Well, you seem to have experienced a lot.” Hnoss then asked: “What is this figurine supposed to show?” she held up the Dragon figurine. “That? That is a Dragon.” “But why do I feel like I know this Dragon?” Kenneth smiled and then said: “Because that is Nidhug, the servant of my stepsister.” Freya gasped in surprise and asked: “How do you know what Nidhug looks like?” “I told you, I was everywhere. I visited my sister Hel to find something and on my way there I met Nidhug.” “But how did Nidhug not kill you?” “We didn’t fight. Nidhug felt the blood of Hel running through my veins.” “You don’t understand do you? Nidhug doesn’t attack Hel because he knows how powerful Hel is. In other words, he understood just by looking at you, how powerful you are,” Freya said. Kenneth looked at her and then said: “Well, how has Asgard been in the last two years?” Freya was about to say something but they felt a presence close by. Freya felt a shiver run down her spine and Gersemi and Hnoss felt week in the legs. Kenneth was standing calmly in the room but then he turned to the door and walked out, outside stood a giant, who had a huge club in his hand. “Hello, Ymir, it has been a while hasn’t it?” “One and three quarter years, I have waited for so long to fight you again.” “Ah, well, I hardly think that we should fight here in Asgard. We nearly destroyed a quarter of Jotunheim when we fought.” Freya was shocked and said: “That can’t be! Ymir was killed by Odin and his brothers! How are you still alive?” “Well little goddess, you should know that I can revive myself as long as there is ice. Kenneth and I had a long fight which lasted twenty days. Kenneth had a bit of difficulty in finally shutting me down for a month.” Kenneth smiled and said: “Well to be fair, we were in the mountains.” Freya looked at him amazed. Odin and his brothers had needed three months to kill Ymir and Kenneth had killed Ymir many times before he killed him again without having to worry about him for a month and that within twenty days. “Enough talk, let us fight Kenneth!” Kenneth sighed and then disappeared. He was behind Ymir and then gone again. Suddenly, Ymir ruptured and his body parts flew around. Hnoss and Gersemi heard their mother curse and looked at the body parts on them. Kenneth stood next to the ‘corpse’ of Ymir and then walked away.

Kenneth stood in front of Fenrir and said: “Well, you don’t seem to look that good brother.” “You seem stronger though Kenneth; how is that?” “I traveled. I met many people and creatures alike and I have to say, Hel isn’t scary for me anymore.” Fenrir chuckled and then said: “Indeed, Hel isn’t the scariest of all. She is rather harmless if you compare her to Jormungandr. But both of them are harmless compared to Ymir. It seems like you have met Ymir though. Do you hate father that much that you would leave to get enough power to kill him?” Kenneth looked Fenrir deep in the eyes and then said: “Yeah, I hate him enough to do this. I would do whatever I can for this.” Fenrir chuckled and then said: “It is good to have a goal, but don’t try to sacrifice too much. Kenneth, be careful. You aren’t like Hel or Jormungandr. You have intelligence; you aren’t being controlled by father and you can fight. I am already under fathers control so make sure that you fight for the side you chose when the time comes.” Fenrir looked Kenneth deep in the eyes and then he laughed again: “You look so much different, what happened?” Kenneth smiled and said: “I traveled through the nine worlds and ate different foods. It seems like when you eat the leaves of Yggdrasil and the foods from all of the nine worlds, you get a weird power.” Fenrir smiled a big toothy grin and Kenneth walked away. Outside of the cave he walked past the different houses of the different gods. He stopped in front of the house of Odin. He entered the house and walked to the hallway, which lead to Odin’s great hall. Odin and some minor gods were standing in the hall. When Kenneth walked in everyone turned around and looked at him. He wore a different mask and Odin didn’t recognize him. Kenneth walked towards Odin and held something out to him. Odin was smiling and said while grabbing the object: “Welcome home grandson, how were your travels?” “They were… different.” Odin laughed and said: “Who did you meet?” “Many, great humans, creatures, gods, giants and I even met my sister Hel.” Odin looked him in the eyes and then laughed. Kenneth laughed as well and the minor gods tried to drag him away. Kenneth looked the minor gods deep in the eyes. He had an expression which said: ‘Hands off or I’m going to kill you.’ The minor god jumped back in surprise but regained himself and then threatened: "If you give me that look again, I will destroy you." Kenneth heard those words and smiled, a wide grin. "I'm really interested now, show me how you will try to do that, old man." The minor god looked at him with hard eyes and then started muttering under his breath. Light gathered around him and it started to take shape. But suddenly, the lights shattered and everyone turned to Odin. Odin was furious: "How dare you, how dare you cast magic in my halls!" Kenneth chuckled and turned to the minor god: "Let's proceed outside, although I doubt that you would have the guts to fight me." The minor god looked at Kenneth with an intense fire burning in his eyes and then replied: "I will take you-" but was suddenly interrupted by Odin. Odin hit Kenneth on the back of his head and then said: "Stupid Grandson, stop trying to get killed!" Kenneth rubbed the back of his head whilst grinning stupidly. "Grandpa, I can handle this, don't worry about me, worry about him." "That's why I'm telling you, don't kill gods," Odin sighed. "Killing gods is sort of my everyday life nowadays though," Kenneth replied and left the halls of Odin. Odin was holding his face in his hands and said: "Why did I earn this?
