this absinthe of desire
flow blocked, fire banked
a redirection roundabout to
early retirement

it matters
and matters deeply

do not all matters of the heart?

wherewith I hold no remorse
taking no recourse to vengeance or ire

one desire leads to another
and another

and another

nothing dying in dire times
even drenched in absinthe
heady waters of desire
eternal cycles of duality
redirection roundabout

to where we started
and where we've ended
retired in emerald.
