![]() PrefaceA Chapter by A.M.MarieIt was cloudy night, the dark cloud were a light red from the city light, the full moon was shinning bright down onto the park, I exhale to see my breath. I rubbed my hands up and down my arms trying to create friction. I could see the Christmas lights glowing a dimly down the street. Where was he? He said he would be here! I cursed under my breath and jumped off the bench. I turned towards the dark path out of the park when I heard a voice. “Leaving so soon Clara?” I spun to see him smirking his milk white teeth glowed from the moonlight. A little girl appeared behind the tree and then a boy and girl soon appeared from the dark mask of the trees. “You said you would be alone.” My teeth chattered, making it hard to talk. He smiled lightly and walked down to the sand box. “I know but have you ever considered to stop roaming this earth alone?” I swallowed hard and starred at the dark from of the play set. “You are like us.” “I know what I am.” I paused. “I don’t need you to tell me. “He nodded shrugging; he then jumped up gracefully onto the play structure. “So Clara do you want to be with people who are like you and full fill your destiny. Or stay with the mortals who are clueless.” He said darkly at the end I looked towards the figures and looked at him. “Stop being alone, fighting by yourself. Have someone who is there for you.” I exhale harshly. “I will join you, to know more about myself and save the people who are like us.” He then jumped down and shrugged out of his black leather jacket and tossed it towards me. “My welcome gift, go home and pack we are coming in a few minutes.” I placed it on warmth swallowed me. “Welcome Clara.” Then black wings sprouted from his back and shot into the sky, the black luminous sky.
