13 Mense Folium

The arcanists were right- the waves of energy were reaching a focal point, the effects of which are unknown. It seems to be coming from an unseen world, one we have not experienced yet. We have tried to establish contact, but it so far has been unsuccessful. Perhaps it is not a contact point, but rather a warning unseen. I have sent men to Terra Lux Aeterna, Animus Vox, and Specum Cecidit Animos. These are the points within the country which contain the highest amount of arcane energy. Perhaps they can decipher the riddle of these strange energies.

The arcanists reported a surge of energy a day ago, an unprecedented amount. The enchanted crystal I had given to them all nearly went up in fire as they all called me at the same time. They seemed panicked, yet mystified at the same time. It was strange, but I had no time to think. A massive surge of light was pouring in through the windows, and I expected the population to be blinded. I took my sword and ran out, out to what I could only describe as an ethereal portal. We could only see four figures on the far side. As I watched, ripples spread out from the surface, no origin I could find on this side.

Then everything went dark, and suddenly there was a person. He seemed strange, as if he were unfazed by the strange occurrence. I almost drew my blade when I spotted him being armed, but his Clarus- his aura- showed no signs of aggression. It was all I could do keep myself from passing out as three more darkenings of the portal occurred, then three more figures arrived.

I directed them to the cavern a short walk from the village. I did not want to trouble the citizens. It seemed that only the pale male understood any of what I told them, but they left nonetheless. I will see them in three night's time, when they are less volatile.

I could not pass up the opportunity presented to me. They were all obviously skilled in a certain field- the leader is an obvious swordsman. I had one of the Aresians sneak a book on magics in to the mage, the sturdy female. The green-eyed one is a bow-woman, by design and by the way she holds herself. The youngest male seems to be unskilled in combat, but perhaps he will be a scholar. They have all agreed to assist us in the ongoing war, if it comes time to defend against an assault. I have sent for the best weapon crafters in the country, to have weapons made for them. They will be taken to have them made tonight.

Perhaps they are the ones who the Kronesian foretold us of. I pray that they will help to end the war.
