Fireflies and Butterflies

When you have a crush but you can’t tell them how you feel

How do I find the words

When they’re as flighty as birds

And I don’t even know

How I love you so

They say follow your heart

But we’re still apart

If my heart I were to trust

I feel that I would combust

The words are simple and true

And I just want to be with you

I guess life’s not fair

‘Cause we’re still not a pair

But This is do or die

So I’m still gonna try

There’s no one I’d rather find

Than the one that’s on my mind

I’d give my heart and soul for you

I may second guess, but I know it’s true

Maybe you’d think that I’d play

But I know that I would say

My dear, think of fireflies and butterflies

Bonfires and flying kites

Summer picnics in the middle of June

Side by side just me and you

And I hope you know

I love you so
