Rainbow Visions - Part IIA Poem by CaeWe hide in the dark, black of the night But colors dance around our dreams Twilight shows the greens, the blanket of the trees Taste of strawberry, sweet But you only taste the bitter on your tongue You only see the red that burns your eyes Acting like we’re too young and it’s why we sink Into chilly waters, of ice cold blue tears When the forest floor runs wild with pink peonies But you don’t grow with the flowers here Or in my heart My eyes overwhelm with orange opalescent light fragments In the depths of your absence And I finally felt the sun Turning my skin warm from yellow rays When I turn my green eyes gaze from yours You crumble to rainbow glass shards in my hands I piece you together Thinking it will fix the blood red cuts in my skin Or the black char of your heart But it’s getting too dark again I can’t see, except the stars in purple galaxies Where we used to float around Unaware of our own moralities Stars burning out on the battleground © 2020 Cae |
