Summer

Summer

A Poem by Cae

I move through this white, sleepy town
Reciting mantras of the dead
Of whom I soon hope to understand
I've got scars in my head
And existential dread
And nothing here is ever sunny
I miss the taste of summer honey
But I'm a vegan now so I'll protect the bees
They sting my heart, but I've got the trees
And rivers to float down
I've got a coat for my gown
I'm not cold out here in the snow
So white it burns my eyes
I bet you didn't know

Love this part 'I miss the taste of summer honey But I'm a vegan now so I'll protect the bees
They sting my heart, but I've got the trees'
