Corduroy Pants

Corduroy Pants

A Poem by Cae
"

*** high notes ***

"
I've got two Jacks in my corduroy pants
And a nickle and a dime
To bet on your next rhyme
The Jack boys want me back in France
But I only wanted a simple dance
So, you think I'm tangled in your ropes
But I laughed you off before you spoke
Three years ago
Please let me know
Why we blow smoke
When I don't know your name anymore
I guess it washed away at the shore
So please stop calling
I'm leaving New Jersey
And I'm begging you for mercy
Please don't make the trip dirty
I'll meet you in another lifetime
Maybe when life's a bit more kind
Can you hand me my glasses
I've got to get going
The 405 is calling me home
I'm tired of roaming with you
So, I've got to go home

Very cool. Sassy and ballsy way to flip the bird - also some beautifully poignant lines in all that 'ooomph' - e.g.
I dont know your name anymore
I guess it washed away at the shore...
class!
