Honeydew

Honeydew

A Poem by Cae

I'm not a piece of artwork
So stop adding purples to my skin
When you drink too much gin
And stop acting like it makes you cool
To skip all your classes in school
To go smoke with your buddies behind the gym
The same place you once painted me until I was nothin'
I avoided my mom for weeks after that
Didn't want her to see you're just like my dad
Maybe I've got some issues there
But honestly, I don't know that I care
I really do feel like I hate you
But sometimes your words are sweet like honeydew
So honey do you want to stay with me
Even though I know how sour your hands will always be

Nice symbolism of honey. Your words had depth in it and I can feel your emotions. Descriptive and thoughtful write.
