Rose

Rose

A Poem by Cae

At night I used to think about you
But now I just sleep thoughtless in my room
In only the light of the moon
And you call me, but I don't pick up
You act like I might miss your touch
But you've got rose scents on your shirt
And I didn't buy you flowers
And there's shampoo in your shower
That I didn't leave there
And that's when I realized I didn't care
I guess I was just used to your habit
Don't even remember what happened
It's okay that I'm not your rose
I want to go, 'cause I want to grow
Into something I can love
Though the growing will be a little rough

I felt that you actually took away from the piece with these lines (ironically intended to reinforce the piece);
"And there's shampoo in your shower
That I didn't leave there"
But apart from that this is a good tale of betrayal and moving on.

Nice symbolism of rose. I can understand your emotions.
