Call Me At Four

Call Me At Four

A Poem by Cae

We wonder where the time went
When we watched it wash off our hands
Down the drain
You have another new man
You tell me he's in a band
And it's got me in a bind
That you can't remember what you left behind
You tasted like sugarcane
But now that's down the drain
You're not my taste
And it's such a waste
Your pretty face
When you use it for what you do
Who you do
I hope you don't misconstrue my words
You can do what you want
But don't expect me to respond
When you text me at three
With an apology
I'm done with the terminology
It's down the drain
So you can text me at four
And I'll come just like before
Hang some new white décor
Or wash it down the drain
I can't refrain from you
I'm so entertained by you
So you can call me at four
And I'll come just like before

So relatable! Those of us who always seem to know that it's right to walk away, leave, run away! Yet we come back again, again, AGAIN! But why? It's our own fate, cause surely those that treat us badly aren't invested enough to be hurt. Such a great write! Keep it up!
