American Gods

American Gods

A Poem by Cae

We got American gods here
And they all want us to die
The kids have got a new appeal
But they just glorify their glory
They pretend we're not real
We're real threats
We're blood, tears and sweat
Defeating American gods
We got the odds against us
You made an unfair fight
You love to laugh in the light
Of the fire that burns us
But we've got rose quartz corpses
And you can't burn us down
You can't drown us under
You can't strike us with lightning
We're not afraid of thunder
American Gods don't scare us
So come on and dare us
