Insomniac

My enemy is dreamless sleep

Because I close my eyes for an escape

From everything that cuts me too deep

Midnight, I lose my mind

When I'm laying awake in bed

Unable to close my eyes

I just want dreams

But I'm an insomniac

I'll never reach them, so it seems

I don't want dreamless sleep

I want to think about other things

Why can't I, please, just sleep
