Gold

Gold

A Poem by Cae
"

"
You're gold, solid gold
And I'm just a forest fire
I want to hold you in my hands
But I'll just melt you down
And I can't make you into pretty chains
But I still have yours around my neck
I still have your jacket too
But we aren't talking about that yet
You're golden and shining
A sun, a star
And I'm just way too far
I really don't know where I am
I really wish I knew what I was thinking
My heart's not even stinging anymore
There's just emptiness
Where you used to be
I don't want us to have been temporary
But it seems like that's where we're headed
I wish I knew what the hell is up with my thoughts and my heart
I only know that I don't like us being apart
But we can't physically be close
Cause you're gold
And I'm just on fire
I want to hold you in my hands
But I'll just melt you down again

So great! You are gold, I'm just on fire, such an interesting way to put it. I like how you get the point across here.
