Why didn't I realize that you loved me?

Why didn't I realize that you loved me?

A Poem by Cadence of Heart
"

writing just to get it back, I haven't written in over seveal months. hope you like.

"
Even when I was young
(when I didn't have a clue)
I was the only one to hide
(under all those clothes)

No one ever noticed me
(under all that hate)
No one ever glanced my way
(though I shouted and shouted)

As I grew
(into the years I went)
I became the thing of hate
(As I so willingly did)
Pushed them away
(yet didn't want to)

When I was older
(I hated the place called home)
I learned never to speak
(never to speak my mind)

Every chance you got
(through your drunkness)
You drew my blood
(and i even learned to like it)

And yet when I laid down on your deathbed
(a young man you died)
I never shed a tear
(I hated you)
I never realized you loved me.
