The HunterA Poem by Cadence of HeartI walk silently down the sidewalk Watching, listening For the sound of hunter's footsteps following me
Safely tucked into their beds safe from the hunter's grasp Never to know the fear of being hunted from the night's evil hunter
I will never know what it is to be safe, safe from the night's hunters and the fear they pierce into my stone cold heart. Never will I be graced the feeling of being loved. of being wanted, needed. Never will I. I stop, i hear the hunter's call now. I do not feat him. I wait for the cold dampness that comes with the hunter. I wait and I wait. It finally comes A sense of emptiness fills me. I envy the ones that are safely tucked into their beds, never to know the hunter's terror. Then I am gone. © 2009 Cadence of HeartAuthor's Note
