Pardon

Pardon

A Poem by Cadel
"

Talking without listening. The mindset of a one-way conversation.

"
Pardon me,
My turn to speak.
Lest we be
Two minds unique.
I say mine
and you say yours.
My words divine
while yours are chores.
Patiently waiting my turn,
I listen close
to which of my thoughts I'll help you learn.
I watch my words
fly overhead
with grace of birds:
my message dead.
When we exchanged,
our vanity stroked
but sincerity shortchanged,
for no thoughts provoked.
I only hope that now you see
How clever I can really be.

Oh, I love this. I often feel like this happens to me a lot. I imagine that's what brought my sarcasm on so strong too ^^ This is great! As for others noticing how clever you can really be, well, those who don't really weren't worth spending your time with, in the first place.

Nice poem! I especially enjoyed the paradox in this line "with grace of birds:/my message dead".

Nicely written... how often do we really listen?

Ah, such are most people. They'll babble all day to others and when others speak to them they turn a blind eye on them. Nice concept and writing!

reminds me so much of those people who have conversations...but don't...they are too busy thinking of the next thing to say...rather than really hearing what the other person is saying.

yes, vanity...

I said clever before even reading this.
I do understand this poem. A conversation with some is like talking to a wall.

A very interesting way of describing the trials of a disagreement.
