A temple in autumnA Poem by Cade Ngan imagery poemThe afterglow of the autumn sun spilled in the courtyard of the small temple bricks of red tiles of green towering ancient trees congregated in the sky autumn winds come leaves scatter all over the ground flutter like golden butterflies up the stony steps the temple bell echoes in solemn silence pious incense burners before the statue of Buddha supplicating for peace well-being as autumn grows thicker the night deepens small temple awash in solitary watery moonlight multitudes of stars shining down on venerable doors and windows as years go by the temple has stood witness to the vicissitudes of history and humanity it remains a harbor for hearts and souls an exquisite scenery in the most authentic hours of autumn.
