Call Me StupidA Poem by Austin CabreraA comedy/horror based poem, on a student making her way to school through a dense fog of terror and joy.
Walking down a foggy street I realize something calling me.
I was told as a young child to never answer someone you can't see. An odd superstition passed down to me. Whatever is calling me, doesn't need to know that I'm afraid. As I walk through this fog I feel it getting closer. Taunting me with its sounds of its own footsteps. I quickly turn around and scream. I yell "leave me be, what do you want for me?" I'm almost by my school, the hairs on my arm begin to rise. What I see in front of me must be a dream or some sort of a crime. School is closed for the very first time. I scream out loud,"NO!" What was calling me this whole time was my consciousness, calling me to come back. © 2013 Austin Cabrera |
