Call Me Stupid

Call Me Stupid

A Poem by Austin Cabrera
"

A comedy/horror based poem, on a student making her way to school through a dense fog of terror and joy.

"
Walking down a foggy street I realize something calling me.
I was told as a young child to never answer someone you can't see.
An odd superstition passed down to me.
Whatever is calling me, doesn't need to know that I'm afraid.
As I walk through this fog I feel it getting closer.
Taunting me with its sounds of its own footsteps.
I quickly turn around and scream.
I yell "leave me be, what do you want for me?"
I'm almost by my school, the hairs on my arm begin to rise.
What I see in front of me must be a dream or  some sort of a crime.
School is closed for the very first time.
I scream out loud,"NO!"
What was calling me this whole time was my consciousness, calling me to come back.

When you scream "No!", this you is different to your consciousness? That's pretty freaky.
