Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Elmy Khalaf

Periods of Darkness

Descend upon my soul

Battered and bruised I grope

Like a bat bereft of sound

This lonely road to perdition

One hears only one's woes

Cries of the damnable damned

One witnesses one sees

One's hell pouring at the seams,

Blown by the tempest wind

as if a wondering fluff

No respite nor relief within

Torturing thoughts and

Loneliness for company

Alone am forced to walk,

Reaches its Zenith at night

That darkness that gobbles my soul.

Author's Note

Elmy Khalaf
I experience these a lot yet language 'outfoxes' me for I cannot adequately use it to describe as i would want to. In describing something have words ever failed you?
