Our Constitutional Haven

Our Constitutional Haven

A Poem by C. Mclaren
"

Do you know what is in your constitution? And if so, how much of it do you know? Think about it, think about what you feel. This piece is about the power the constitution should inspire in all of us.

"

We say what we say
what we say
And we do what we do
what we do

Are we wrong, just because we choose to live in a way somebody else classifies as imperfection?

Looking for the words to a constitutional haven

Are we moving in a wrong direction?
Because everyone has these ideas of who we should imitate
So if we choose not to, are we really going in the wrong direction?

The constitutional right to be who we want to be
The face in the mirror should reflect him, her and me
The constitutional picture
of our free country

We say what we say
what we say
And we do what we do
what we do

We say what we say
what we say
And we do what we do
what we do

We have our right to fight you
on every little suggestion you have about who we should be.

We say what we say, what we say
you say what you want
we do what we do, what we do

From print to screen to the hill tops
we will fight you

For the freedom given to us by our forefathers
A day will come when we are free from anyone’s attempts to prosecute.

You can say what you want
but we will always reserve our right to fight true.
